Exterior Painting a short sale home in Palm Bay, Fl
May 29, 2018 By Paul Peck
I just finished up this interior and exterior painting project in Palm Bay , Fl. The house was just purchased in a short sale due to foreclosure. The home was 1800 sq.ft with a stucco finish. After pressure washing this Palm Bay home, we repaired all of the staircase stucco cracks, applied a tinted primer to ensure good adhesion, and then applied two coats of Richards Signature Series- satin exterior paint. We also painted the garage floor with an epoxy garage floor paint. Here's a few Before and After photos of the exterior painting: Before: After: Garage Door Before: Garage Door After: Front Entry Before: Front Entry After: Staircase Stucco Cracks Before: Staircase Stucco Cracks After: Garage floors coated with an epoxy garage floor paint: I am absolutely delighted with the finished result. Cocoa, FL Exterior House Painting Project
August 10, 2018 By Paul Peck
On this Cocoa, Florida exterior repaint in Port Saint John we repaired several staircase stucco cracks, damaged stucco from the hurricane shutters and a buckled stucco area at the front entrance of this Cocoa, Fl home. Water had gotten behind the decorative stucco piece and rusted out the wire lathe at the front entrance of this South facing 10 year old home. Which ultimately caused the stucco to buckle and fail in that area. The whole house had chalky and faded paint that we had to deal with by priming all of the surfaces to be painted first, before we could start the exterior house painting. Here's the steps we took to prep and paint the exterior of this Cocoa, Fl home: 1) After digging out 4" to 6" around the perimeter of this homes exterior stucco walls 2) We pressure washed all of the exterior surfaces to be painted on this stucco home. 3) Then … [Read More...]
Chinese Drywall is here in Brevard County, Florida
July 26, 2012 By Paul Peck
I have seen numerous homes affected by Chinese Drywall here in Brevard County, Florida. Also, Orange County, Volusia county and Indian River County are reporting it as well. There are some simple tests that can performed if you suspect that your potential clients home or business has Chinese drywall, we are prepared to perform a few checks as recommended by the State of Florida to confirm the possibility of tainted drywall. Palm Bay, Florida home built in 2005: Affected by Chinese Drywall After being contacted to do a Chinese drywall inspection by the new owners of this home, I set up the appointment for the next day. As soon as I walked in the door it smelt like rotten eggs and my eyes started to immediately burn. By the end of the Chinese drywall inspection, it was determined that the entire interior of this home contained Chinese drywall throughout including the … [Read More...]
Chinese Drywall Inspection Confirms Toxic Chinese Drywall in Palm Bay
December 27, 2018 By Paul Peck
Chinese Drywall confirmed in a Palm Bay, FL neighborhood Toxic Chinese Drywall I was called out to do a Chinese drywall inspection on a home that was built in 2006. This beautiful home was located in a gated community neighborhood in the Melbourne / Palm Bay area on the Space Coast of Florida. The concerning thing is that this paticular home was the model home when this entire was in the construction phase. So this mean that the whole neighbor hood could potentially have the toxic Chinese Drywall! The home was all set for closing when the final home inspection came back as "Possible Chinese Drywall" due to the home being built in the timeframe when Chinese drywall was being shipped here to the East Coast of the United States by the container and ship load... When I arrived to the home for the Chinese drywall inspection there was a strong odor that smelt like rotten eggs … [Read More...]

Vaulted Ceiling Tape Joint Repair-Knockdown Texture Sponge
March 20, 2016 By Paul Peck
In this video blog I'll be demonstrating how to apply an all purpose joint compound with my Knockdown Texture Sponge on a vaulted ceiling repair. The ceiling repair is the entire 36' paper tape joint right at the vault of the open plan ceiling. Over time a lot of homes vaulted tape joints end up separating due to a few different factors: 1) These type of ceilings are exposed to excessive heat because of how close the vaulted ceiling is to the actual roof. 2) Sometimes when the drywall was installed at the vaulted ceiling the drywall hangers leave to big of a gap at the vault. 3) Another common mistake during the construction phase of when the drywall ceiling was initially installed without using the correct amount of fasteners which lead to the ceiling sagging over time and popping the tape joint at the vaulted ceiling. 4) Other times there is no framing member to attach to … [Read More...]
Brevard County Water Damage Drywall Repair
August 8, 2019 By Paul Peck
On this Brevard County water damage repair project video, I show you the whole process of doing a water damage drywall repair from start to finish. When the plumbing leak happened the homeowners cut out the area of drywall that had been damaged by the water. After they did that they realized that it might be a little bit bigger project than they really could handle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzG8VNXT_TM In My Youtube video I'll show you how I do the drywall finishing on this water damage drywall repair from start to finish. There is also a link within in the video of me applying a orange peel texture to this same repair. 1) The first thing I needed to do was square up the drywall because when they cut it out it was kind of crooked and just passed a couple studs. 2) Next, I added a couple of one by four furring strips to be able to attach the new drywall too. 3) I … [Read More...]
How To and Product Review – Strait Flex Uno-Bead
June 25, 2018 By Paul Peck
In this product review and demonstration video, I will be using the Strait flex Uno-Bead for the first time ever. This will enable you to see how easy the Strait Flex Uno-Bead is to work with without ever have used it before. Or what might be a bit of a learning curve when it comes to using a product you have never used before. Thanks for watching and if you have any questions about the Strait Flex Uno-Bead please feel free to ask me in the comments section of my video on Youtube. I'll be replacing the old corner bead from a closet modification with the Strait Flex composite corner bead on a roll. The closet had already been taken apart by the homeowner that had just purchased this home. The plan was to make a computer/gaming area for their son where the closet was. Since their new to them home was having several remodeling projects going on anyways they wanted to have me take care of … [Read More...]
Cocoa Beach Popcorn Ceiling is Falling Down!
March 19, 2019 By Paul Peck
The sprayed on popcorn texture (also known as acoustical ceiling texture) was falling off of this Cocoa Beach condo's ceiling. Of course right smack in the middle of the ceiling in the main livingroom. That just so happen to have one of the best views of the Banana River that Cocoa Beach has to offer. Right when I looked at this ceiling I knew that a tape joint had been previously repaired at one of the drywall seams. My guess would be that when this popcorn ceiling had been repaired before. The contractors didn't prime the dusty surface after removing the old tape joint and scraping back the popcorn texture at the repair to be able to re secure and re mud the new drywall taping and mudding areas.. Dust surfaces are not the ideal area to try and do drywall finishing on. These types of ceiling repairs will surely fail if the proper preparations are not done at the beginning of a … [Read More...]

The prices at Peck Drywall and Painting are very reasonable. I'm kind of picky but I would give them A's.
I have a stucco home that needed painting and some minor stucco repair. Paul Peck came out to give an estimate in person at my earliest convenience and was very knowledgable and professional. His estimate was competitive with the four other estimates I received and he was able to start the job within a short period of time. He was present each day and his crew is very skilled and courteous. They worked around inclement weather and kept me informed of any issues or schedule adjustments. I am absolutely delighted with the finished result and would not hesitate to recommend this company to other Angie's List members.
Called Pecks right before selling my home. House was 2 years old and had some stucco cracks and fading on outside and picture holes in wall on inside. Got an estimate fast, it was a good price to do everything I wanted and the house looks better than it did when I bought it new once Paul was done. Definitely highly recommend if you need any drywall, painting or repair work completed
Member Comments: The job went very well except for a few delays due to weather. Peck arrived as scheduled and began with a pressure cleaning of the entire house and also pulling the soil back from around the bottom edge of the house to allow for paint application down to the ground level. A 6 foot verticle section of rotted wood trim board was replaced at one of the house corners. A piece of trim board was also added around a window. Both of these trim pieces were installed very well and blended in perfectly with the existing wood trim.
Three coats of paint were applied to the entire house; a sealer coat then 2 top coats. The paint came out beautifully with fine attention to detail. The work site was cleaned up every day.
I want to express my great appreciation for a job very well done when you and your team fixed the badly damaged popcorn ceiling of my condo in Cocoa Beach. I am impressed with the perfection of the job, the professionalism of your team and the great price of the work. Your work is totally consistent with the advertising in your webpage. Definitely, I will call you for my future projects.
